What "Exclusive" Actually Means Here
The short version: these are real lines from real mills that you can only buy through a member dealer. Abbey Carpet & Floor is a buying group of independent flooring stores. Its scale lets it commission private-label lines from the major manufacturers — the same factories behind the national names — and its rules mean those lines are never sold at a big-box store or on a website.
For you that means two things. A price a warehouse cannot undercut, because it cannot get the product. And a floor chosen where floors should be chosen: underfoot, in a showroom, with someone who installs it for a living.
For us it is the reason a family showroom on Route 9 can carry as many mills as it does. Membership is how we buy; these five lines are what membership adds that nobody else here has.

What Drives the Price
Stairs first, then the pad. A staircase can cost as much as a bedroom because every tread is cut and fitted by hand, and a good carpet on a thin pad feels tired in three years. Then the line and style, square footage, tear-out and disposal, and furniture moving.
Exclusive lines are typically positioned to beat the equivalent national brand on price for the same construction — that is the point of them.

What are Abbey exclusive brands?
Abbey Carpet & Floor is a national buying group of independent flooring stores. Its exclusive brands — Alexander Smith, American Showcase, Infinity, Legendary Beauty and Pet Defense — are private-label lines made for Abbey by major mills and sold only through member dealers. Royalty Carpet & Flooring is the Abbey member dealer in Wappingers Falls, so the Hudson Valley buys them here.
Why can't I find these brands at Home Depot or online?
Because they are not sold there. Exclusive lines exist so that an independent dealer can offer something a big-box store cannot price-match against a website. The trade-off is that you have to visit a member dealer to see them — which, since flooring should be chosen underfoot anyway, we think is the right trade.
What is Pet Defense carpet?
Abbey's pet-focused carpet line: a stain-resistant fibre with a backing designed to stop liquid reaching the pad and subfloor, so accidents clean from the surface instead of soaking in. If you have been looking at Mohawk SmartStrand or Shaw Pet Perfect, Pet Defense is the Abbey-exclusive alternative, and we carry all three so the comparison is side by side.
What is Infinity carpet?
Infinity is Abbey's premium nylon carpet fibre line, built for wear. Nylon is the most resilient carpet fibre — it springs back where polyester crushes — and Infinity is the line we point people toward for stairs, hallways and busy family rooms where the carpet has to look good in year seven, not just year one.
Is Abbey exclusive flooring good quality, or is it a house brand?
It is both, and the two are not opposites. These lines are manufactured by the same major mills that make the national brands, to Abbey's specification, under Abbey's name. What you give up is the national advertising; what you get is a line the big-box store cannot undercut, backed by the dealer who installed it and will still be here in ten years.
How much do Abbey exclusive lines cost installed?
Installed price depends on the line and style, the pad, square footage, stairs, and whether old flooring has to come up and be hauled away.
