That breadth is why more of our rack space is Mohawk than any other name. It is also why it needs a dealer: three lines that look similar on a website behave very differently under a dog, on a stair, or in a basement, and telling them apart is the job.
Samples go home free. A carpet that looked perfect under showroom lights is a different colour at dusk in your own hallway, and we would rather you found that out before it was installed.

What Drives the Price of a Mohawk Floor
For carpet, the pad matters nearly as much as the carpet. A good SmartStrand on a thin pad feels tired in three years; the same carpet on the right cushion still feels new. Then stairs — a staircase can cost as much as a bedroom — and fibre, style, tear-out and furniture moving.
For RevWood and LVT: the collection, the square footage, tear-out and disposal, subfloor prep, and transitions.

What is Mohawk SmartStrand and is it good for pets?
SmartStrand is Mohawk's triexta carpet fibre. Its stain resistance is built into the fibre itself rather than sprayed on, so it does not wash out with cleaning, and it releases pet accidents and food stains that would set permanently in ordinary nylon. It is the carpet we point most families with dogs and young children toward. Pair it with a moisture-barrier pad and the subfloor is protected as well.
What is Mohawk RevWood — is it laminate or vinyl?
RevWood is Mohawk's wood-look laminate with a water-resistant surface. It is harder and more scratch-resistant than vinyl and looks closer to real hardwood, which is why people choose it for living rooms and hallways. It is water-resistant, not waterproof: a spill wiped up is fine, but standing water at a seam can still swell the core. For basements and bathrooms we steer you to Mohawk LVT or COREtec instead.
Are Mohawk and Karastan the same company?
Yes. Karastan is Mohawk's premium brand, and we carry both. Karastan sits at the top of the range in wool and high-end nylon; Mohawk's own label covers everything from budget polyester to SmartStrand. If you have been comparing the two, the honest answer is that they overlap less than people expect — we will show you both side by side.
How much does Mohawk carpet cost installed?
Installed price depends on the fibre and style, the pad underneath it, square footage, stairs, and whether old carpet has to come up and be hauled away. Do you have Mohawk carpet in stock or does it have to be ordered?
Both. We keep Mohawk cuts on the racks — more of them than any other mill — and most of those can be installed within days. Call 845-831-4774 and we will tell you exactly what is in today. Styles not on the racks are ordered from the mill and typically arrive in one to three weeks.
