The short version: Shaw makes the carpet most people with pets should be buying, and the vinyl that competes with its own COREtec. As one of the two largest mills in the country, Shaw covers the range from rental-grade polyester to Pet Perfect and Anso nylon; its Floorté plank is the rigid-core vinyl we quote against COREtec every week.
Owning both COREtec and Floorté puts Shaw in an odd spot for a shopper: two Shaw products, two price points, one decision. That is precisely where a dealer earns the visit — we stock and install both, so the recommendation is about your room, not our margin.

What Drives the Price of a Shaw Floor
For carpet: stairs first, then the pad. A staircase can cost as much as a bedroom, and a good carpet on a thin pad feels tired in three years. Then fibre, style, square footage, tear-out and furniture moving.
For Floorté: wear layer thickness, the collection, square footage, subfloor prep and transitions.

What is Shaw Pet Perfect?
Shaw's carpet line engineered for homes with pets. The fibre resists staining and the backing is designed to stop liquid soaking through to the pad and subfloor, so an accident cleans up from the surface instead of living underneath the carpet. The display is on our showroom floor; it is the Shaw carpet we recommend most to households with dogs or cats.
What is Shaw Floorté?
Floorté is Shaw's waterproof rigid-core luxury vinyl plank, in SPC and WPC constructions. It is the direct alternative to COREtec — which is also made by Shaw Industries — and we carry both, so we can put them side by side rather than sell you whichever one we happen to stock. Available to order through the showroom.
Are Shaw and COREtec the same company?
Yes. COREtec is owned by Shaw Industries, as is Anderson Tuftex hardwood. We carry all three. In practice COREtec is the better-known name for rigid-core vinyl and Floorté competes with it on price and range; the honest comparison depends on the specific collection and your room, which is what a showroom visit settles.
How much does Shaw carpet cost installed?
Installed price depends on the fibre and style, the pad, square footage, stairs, and whether old carpet has to come up and be hauled away. Stairs cost far more per square foot than open floor because every tread is cut and fitted. We measure in person and give you one firm written price — call 845-831-4774 for a free estimate.
Do you have Shaw carpet in stock?
Yes — Shaw cuts are on our racks, and those can usually be installed within days. Call 845-831-4774 and we will tell you what is in today. Styles not in stock are ordered from Shaw and typically arrive in one to three weeks.
